Manager of Warehouse / Transportation Operations
A leading specialty item distributor, committed to providing exceptional service to our customers, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Warehouse / Transportation Operations to lead the warehouse and transportation teams.
Responsibilities :
Oversee Warehouse Operations : Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
Optimize warehouse layout and slotting strategies to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Implement and maintain rigorous safety and sanitation standards.
Oversee inventory control and cycle counting processes.
Lead Transportation Operations : Manage a fleet of 40 trucks, including driver scheduling, route optimization, and maintenance.
Negotiate and manage carrier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Monitor and analyze transportation costs and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
Budget Management : Develop and manage annual operating budgets for warehouse and transportation operations.
Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving measures.
Team Leadership : Lead and develop a team of 60+ warehouse and transportation associates.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Provide training and coaching to ensure team members are equipped to succeed.
Technology Utilization : Proficient in utilizing S2K software to manage warehouse operations.
Leverage technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications :
- Experience as a Director of Operations or similar role in a warehouse environment.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale warehouse and transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems, particularly S2K.
- Experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
