S ummary :
Operates, monitors, and inspects assigned wastewater facilities and treatment plant operational equipment, processes, and systems on an assigned shift in a designated area. Performs assigned maintenance functions as part of a team under the direction of the assigned Area Supervisor I or II or Shift Operations Manager.
Posting Period : 1 / 9 / 2026 to 1 / 30 / 2026
Location : Deer Island (Winthrop), MA
Salary : External : $62,843.38 - $89,210.25 Annually moves to $65,815.51 - $94,222.99 upon completion of PIP training
Internal : $1,208.53 - $1,715.58 Weekly moves to $1,265.68 to $1,811.98 upon completion of PIP training
Work Schedule : Tuesday - Sunday 3 : 00pm - 11 : 00pm
- Shift differential $2.32 per hour, nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Operates forklift or other light equipment that does not require a special license.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud in field settings, and moderately quiet in an office setting.
S upervision Received and Exercised
Works under the general supervision of the Area Supervisor I, Area Supervisor II or Shift Operations Manager.
May supervise or direct assigned employees at a lower grade. May provide guidance or instruction to Operator-in-Training.
