[job_card.job_description]Minimum 3years prior experience in boiler operation and / or rendering facility. High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of water tube boilers, principles of combustion, water composition, and steam generation. Basic math skills; performs various calculations including heating and fuel consumption rate. Good oral and written skills. Ability to work nights and / or weekends as needed. Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch. Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Job Summary
The Boiler / waste water Operator is responsible for the operation of the boiler and boiler processes along with the waste water process.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Starts and shuts down boilers.
- Operates Wastewater and air pollution control system.
- Monitors feed water, boiler water, water softener, and water treatment unit.
- Adds chemicals on a daily basis.
- Performs daily greasing and oiling.
- Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
- Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
- Has mechanical knowledge and ability to cut and weld

Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and / or slippery floors, and high heat and / or cold temperatures.
