Responsibilities:
Read and understand architectural blueprints
Read and understand detailed drawings, including weld callouts
Manage a small team and work alongside them to produce projects
Be able to make decisions when faced with unexpected challenges
Maintaining and inspecting all equipment used on a daily basis.
Make sure all safety requirements are followed in shop.
Knowledge of standard welding processes and practices (mig/flux core primarily)
Be able to assess the situation and problem-solve
Ability to operate standard fabrication shop equipment
Understanding of AISC quality standards
Assign crew tasks, verify materials, monitor fit-up and weld quality, inspection of all pieces in all stages.
Confirm completed work in staged correctly
Qualifications:
5+ years of general fabrication experience, including experience on highly detailed projects
Must be a certified welder or able to test for certs
Ability to Tig weld is a plus
Being familiar with OSHA standards and PPE safety practices is a must
Bilingual is a plus
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Be willing to submit to a background check if required
