We are looking for an Inspector for our Amherst, NY facility. The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing quality inspection on incoming and outgoing customer parts, quality checks on raw materials and supplies used in production. Performs product testing and analysis, and production materials planning. Responsible for upkeep of quality documentation.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform all incoming and out-going quality inspections on customer parts to ensure specifications are met prior to shipping. This includes preliminary and post deposition visual inspections and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
• Inspections require ability to lift and move parts from 5-44 lbs
• Vacuum Packaging of products
• Performs coating characterization using various laboratory test equipment including:
• Optical/Image analysis (various forms)
• Coating thickness on profilometer
• Wear track testing using a Tribometer
• Thermal shock testing
• Scratch adhesion testing on Fischer ST-200
• Calo wear test and assessment
• Nano hardness on Fischer HM2000

Your Profile:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical trade school or related work experience preferred
• Individual must have strong work ethic, be high-energy, and detailed-oriented
• Good computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Must be able to lift up to 44lbs.
• Able to work Wednesday-Saturday (9:30 AM - 8:00 PM) shift.

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
