Position Details
Schedule : Full-time (40+ hours / week)
Location : Kansas City, MO

Nature of the Work
As a Diesel Mechanic / Welding Fabricator for IBC Traffic, you are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of diesel vehicles and related equipment used in our operations. In this key role, you will work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure all fleet equipment, including trucks and pavement marking machinery, operates safely and efficiently. Your expertise helps support the company's growth and operational success while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Essential Duties
The duties of the Diesel Mechanic / Welding Fabricator include but are not limited to :
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles such as gas F-150s, F-550s,
- Freightliners, Kenworth's, Isuzu's, 1500 Chevys, and Internationals
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Conduct welding and metal fabrication for equipment repair and customization
- Perform small engine repairs as needed on pavement marking and other related equipment
- Inspect and maintain pavement marking equipment, including paint, thermo, epoxy trucks, Mini-Macs, and paint sprayers
- Maintain accurate work and repair records for all vehicles and equipment serviced
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with safety standards and company policies
- Assist with inventory management of parts and materials related to maintenance and fabrication
- Keep the maintenance shop and tools clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Communicate vehicle status, repair needs, and parts orders effectively to management
- Exercise initiative, or as directed, perform other duties to meet the needs of the organization.
