Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and staff. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to operate computer and multi-function printer, office and telephone equipment. Knowledge of commonly used computer software and excellent communication skills. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or health professions. Must be licensed in the State of Tennessee. Current provider in Basic Life Support (BLS). At least one year of experience as an LPN / RN. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, Infection Control, safety hazards and precautions. Participation in mandatory continuing education and training.
Meharry Community Wellness Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time position at its satellite clinic, the First Response Center. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Board-certified Nurse Practitioner. They will be will be responsible for triaging patients, administration of injectables, collection and processing of biological specimens for laboratory testing, entering lab results and clinical notes in Electronic Health Record.
Daily Operations
- The LPN / RN will demonstrate clinical competence in assessment, diagnostic reasoning, phlebotomy, and administration of injectables.
- The LPN / RN will apply standard operating procedures in implementing therapies that restore health, minimize complications, and manage risk factors.
- Participate in performance improvement, data collection, and program reports.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and continuing education activities.
