The Clinical Dietitian serves as the Food and Nutrition Services representative in patient care activities. Responsible for providing basic nutrition assessments and care planning for patients. Performs as a member of the interdisciplinary team responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of optimal nutritional care and education of patients/staff in accordance with established standards of care. Complies with business practices to uphold the hospitals mission and values.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Nutrition / Dietetics
Registration/ Certification: - Registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration within six months of hire.
- Connecticut State Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CD-N) within six months of hire.
Years of Experience:
- 0-3 year of acute care experience
SKILLS
- Read and interpret written/ oral instructions.
- Sets and meets deadlines, prioritizes work, and works independently.
- Identifies and understands issues and problems.
- Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of oral or written communications.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to change.
