What we are looking for :

A passion to serve and help others live their best lives possible.

High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.

Access to reliable transportation.

Minimum of six (6) months work experience in a supervised setting, preferably health care facility.

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care / Aide Care Plan.

Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Previous experience as an at home caregiver or in senior communities.

Proficient in speaking both English and Spanish.

Males encouraged to apply.

New Jersey Home Health Aide Certification required.

What you will be doing :

Assist with daily activities to help clients stay independent and in their own homes.

Provide assistance with personal care activities including but not limited to : bathing, shaving, skin / nail care, shampooing, oral hygiene, dressing, range of motion exercises, and assistance in ambulation exercises.

Assist with mobility, transfers and range of motion exercises.

Handle meal planning, preparation and feeding.

Properly manage household needs.

Provide companionship and respite services for the family.

Assists in the administration of medications that are ordinarily self-administered under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Reports any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and / or needs to the Registered Nurse. Follows reporting guidelines in the Plan of Care / Aide Care Plan.

Documents care provided and completes the forms required for the client's records. Completes the appropriate records to document care given and pertinent observations.

Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following Agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the supervisor.

Demonstrates safe practice in the use of equipment.

Communicates effectively with family and all members of the interdisciplinary team.

Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
