The Extrusion Operator will set up and run various extrusion machines and ancillary equipment in the manufacturing of medical and non-medical extruded tubing.  The operator will be expected to perform his / her job duties safely and with attention to the execution of all tasks with efficiency and quality.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set ups, tear downs, operates and cleans extrusion machines and ancillary equipment within supplied specification.
  • Performs moisture analysis on raw materials and ensures utmost quality of extruded product by performing quality inspections using a variety of measurement equipment including, but not limited to :
  • Pin gauges
  • Micrometers
  • Verniers
  • Video microscopes
  • Laser micrometers
  • Troubleshoots extrusion issues as needed.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications :

  • 3 years of manufacturing / machine operator experience preferred. Willing to train mechanically inclined candidates.
  • Must be able to read, apply and train others on documented work instructions.
  • Must be able to perform basic math and use basic tools, such as ruler, calculator, etc.
  • Must possess ability to calculate the tooling necessary for new single lumen extrusions, run time, part weights and raw material required for order
  • Reads and interprets customer and internal product specifications and prints

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced related technical schooling

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, and / or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must possess fine hand motor skills to handle small manufacturing tools, QC tools and fine product.
