Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (healthcare or nonprofit preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting required
- Experience supporting audits and financial close cycles required
- 3+ years management experience required
- CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
- Experience in an FQHC, nonprofit healthcare, or grant-funded environment preferred
- Familiarity with HRSA, UDS, Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting preferred
- Experience with healthcare EHR/financial systems and payroll integration preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Communicates financial information effectively to non-finance staff
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial and personnel data
- Ability to analyze complex financial and grant data
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency of ERP systems and Excel
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.
- Critical thinker who solves problems and makes sound decisions
Working Conditions
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel locally for meetings and events, when required
- Regularly sit while working on the computer; use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; repeat the same movements when entering data; ability to differentiate between colors, shades, and brightness; read from a computer screen for extended periods of time
- Frequently stand and walk around the office to gather supplies, required to do filing, use office equipment, or collaborate with employees
- Occasionally stand, stoop and lift or move objects, equipment and supplies weighing approximately 20-25 pounds up to 40-50 pounds
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
