Job summary
Directly involved in managing which body fabricated parts are being run on a day?to?day basis by setting sequenced set properties per line schedules and hot items needed. Work close with body fabrication and Aftermarket Parts (Sales and Warranty Departments) to manage body fabricated parts being complete per schedules and request.
Responsibilities
- Creates instructions for machines operators.
- Reviews 3D CAD design prints.
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications optimizing material yield.
- Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
- Communicates with engineers and operators who will use the program.
- Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software.
- Determines sequence of operations in a program.
- Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
- Analyzes job order and performs necessary calculations.
- Makes improvements to set up times for a task.
- Simplifies tooling time for jobs and increases equipment productivity / cycle while maintaining quality.
- Evaluates all completed designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce time and cost.
- Monitors all programs to make sure they follow engineering specifications and provides feedback when a design change is required to complete the task safely and successfully.
- Provides training for operators on automated systems.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
- Ensures maximum run time per production shift.
