Job Summary

The Electrical Estimator (High and Low Voltage) is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role analyzes project drawings and specifications to determine the full scope of electrical work, including high voltage power distribution and low voltage systems such as data cabling and DAS. The Electrical Estimator collaborates with project managers, engineers, field teams, vendors, and subcontractors to develop detailed bids that align with project requirements, timelines, and profitability goals. This position plays a critical role in securing new business and ensuring successful project execution from preconstruction through handoff.

On a typical day, the Electrical Estimator reviews construction drawings and specifications to understand project scope, performs detailed material and labor takeoffs, and uses estimating software to build comprehensive cost proposals. They request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing, identify potential risks or scope gaps, and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure estimates are complete and accurate. The estimator prepares and submits bid packages, communicates with general contractors or clients during the bidding process, updates cost databases, and supports project handoff meetings when projects are awarded.
