A confidential healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and dependable Phlebotomist to support plasma collection operations in a regulated, safety-focused environment. This role is essential to ensuring quality, compliance, and a positive donor experience.
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing venipunctures, supporting the plasmapheresis process, operating collection equipment, and maintaining strict compliance with FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and a commitment to donor safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipunctures and plasma collection using proper technique and safety standards
Set up and prepare all disposable supplies and equipment for donor procedures
Operate automated plasmapheresis machines; troubleshoot alarms and alerts
Review donor identification, monitor donor reactions, and ensure donor comfort
Maintain accurate labels, collection ratios, logs, and documentation
Dispose of biohazard waste according to safety protocols
Maintain clean, organized workstations and ensure adequate supply levels
Perform maintenance, calibration, and QC checks on plasmapheresis equipment
Support continuous improvement, CAPA activity, and performance observations
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
MediClear or equivalent HIPAA privacy certification (required)
Documented phlebotomy training completion prior to working independently
Prior medical/clinical experience preferred (minimum 3 months ideal)
Proficiency with computer systems and documentation tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to focus and perform repetitive, precise tasks
