The Multimedia Reporter will create engaging content for the Catholic East Texas magazine, the diocesan web site, and social media platforms, connecting with the Catholic community of northeast Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Write compelling news stories, features, and profiles for the Catholic East Texas Magazine, and assist in the planning and editing of the magazine.
• Create written and visual content in both English and Spanish for multiple platforms.
• Report on diocesan events, parish activities, and community outreach.
• Produce photography and video content for multiple platforms.
• Design graphics and layout for print and digital publications.
• Manage and update website content and social media channels.
• Meet regular publication deadlines. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism communications or a related field.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong photography and basic videography abilities.
• Experience with content management systems and social media platforms.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) preferred.
Working Conditions:
• Standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at workstation.
• Travel to the churches and institutions of the diocese.
• Evening and weekend work required.
