Chemist / Process Development Engineer

Solid Dose Manufacturing (Dietary Supplements)

About the Role

Marlyn Nutraceuticals, a 60-year-old manufacturer of high‐quality dietary supplements, is seeking a motivated Chemist or Process Development Engineer to support the development, optimization, and scale‐up of solid‐dose dietary supplement products in our fast‐paced, cGMP‐compliant manufacturing environment.

You’ll work closely with our development, engineering, quality, and production teams—learning from them and gaining hands‐on experience with new solid dose processing technologies, including fluid bed granulation and hot‐melt coating systems and translating material behavior into reliable, efficient, and scalable solid‐dose processes—always with an eye toward product quality and timely delivery, supporting formulation and process development for tablets, capsules, and granulated materials while gaining direct experience with the major solid dose process unit operations : blending, milling, dry and wet granulation, compression, encapsulation, and coating

Key Skill-Based Responsibilities :

• Schedule, organize, and coordinate physical material testing, including the assessment of key physicochemical properties such as solubility, stability, and powder flow.
• Act as the critical bridge between raw material innovation and final product performance.
• Evaluate new materials for new processes, reduce costs, or improve sustainability, while working directly with supplier technical experts to validate, test, and approve these materials for manufacturing.
• Evaluate excipient compatibility and characterize solid forms (e.g., polymorphs, salts) to support robust formulation development.
• Collaborate closely with the product development team to assist in formulation and process optimization activities.
• Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrument issues, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable data generation, while ensuring testing accuracy and regulatory compliance with FDA, cGMP, SOPs, and internal quality standards.
• Contribute to investigations including deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and quality control documentation reviews.
• Participate in the implementation of new method improvements and new process onboarding initiatives to enhance efficiency.
• Support the development and training of GMP equipment operators on proper handling, testing, and documentation procedures.
• Maintain accurate, cGMP-compliant lab notebooks and contribute to the continuous improvement of QC methods, SOPs, and laboratory documentation systems.
