Position: Clinical Dietitian

Hours: 32 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday during normal business hours

Compensation: $36.00-42.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Travel Reimbursement: Paid at the same hourly rate for time spent traveling to and from the facility.

Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for new admissions and periodically thereafter, with increased frequency for high-risk residents.
• Develop, implement, and monitor tailored nutrition care plans.
• Provide important nutrition education and counseling as required.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the care team.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant state and federal regulations, including those set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health (DOH).
• Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation.
• Monitor resident weight changes weekly or monthly to detect possible changes in nutrition or hydration status.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing nutrition care services and resident outcomes.
• Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits, document findings, and suggest corrective measures to uphold a safe and sanitary environment.
• Review and approve the menu every six months to ensure compliance with USDA guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned within your scope of practice.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Current state licensure/certification (if required by the state).
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills for effective interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Critical thinking abilities to assess situations, set objectives, and develop and implement effective improvement plans.
• Proficient in providing general nutrition interventions.
• Familiarity with state survey processes and compliance with nutrition care regulations.
• Competency in electronic charting systems.
