Role Overview
The Performance & Analytics Lead plays a central role in shaping how large capital projects are measured, understood, and executed. This position is responsible for designing and governing a standardized portfolio of Power BI dashboards that provide leadership with clear, consistent insight into project performance across cost, schedule, risk, and execution.
This role blends hands-on analytics expertise with strong process discipline. You will establish scalable reporting standards, define repeatable workflows, and embed data-driven decision-making into the rhythm of project delivery across engineering, procurement, and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
Dashboard Design & Delivery
- Design, build, and maintain a standardized suite of Power BI dashboards supporting multiple concurrent capital projects
- Develop reporting views covering cost, schedule, progress, forecasting, risk, and overall execution health
- Create reusable dashboard templates, layouts, and data models to accelerate deployment on new projects
- Ensure visuals, calculations, and interactions align with defined KPIs and executive decision-making needs
Portfolio & Program Reporting
Enable consistent, side-by-side comparison of projects using governed metrics and shared definitionsProduce portfolio-level rollups that highlight trends, emerging risks, and performance variancesSupport leadership reviews, stage-gate decisions, and milestone meetings with accurate, timely insightsReporting Standards & Governance
Define and document end-to-end reporting workflows, including data sources, ownership, refresh cadence, quality checks, and approvalsEstablish procedures for dashboard development, version control, change management, and lifecycle maintenanceIntegrate dashboards into standard project management routines such as weekly reviews and monthly reporting cyclesData Integration & Enablement
Partner with IT and data teams to integrate reporting with ERP, project controls, engineering, and operations systemsLeverage the Power Platform (e.g., Power Automate, SharePoint, Dataverse) to support data collection and workflow automation where appropriateMaintain standardized data definitions and a governed semantic layer to ensure consistency across projects and timeCross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with project controls, finance, engineering, construction, and operations teams to define requirements and close data gapsProvide guidance and enablement to analysts and project teams to drive adoption of reporting standardsContribute to continuous improvement efforts through lessons learned and analytics enhancementsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience5+ years of experience developing Power BI dashboards in capital projects, EPC, engineering, construction, or industrial environmentsDemonstrated success building standardized reporting frameworks used across multiple projectsStrong understanding of project performance metrics, KPI development, and stakeholder communicationPreferred
Experience supporting large-scale capital programs within owner / operator or EPC organizationsFamiliarity with project controls concepts including cost management, scheduling, progress measurement, and forecastingExperience integrating data from ERP, project management, or engineering systemsPower BI or Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-300)Strong organizational and change-management skills with the ability to influence adoption across decentralized teams
