Description :

General information : 28 beds with 2 hybrid rooms for cardiovascular and vascular cases.

The facility sees 60-75 cases per day.

The patient population includes outpatient, inpatient, and trauma cases such as gunshot wounds, stabbings, kidney and heart transplants, donor cases, general surgeries, gynecological surgeries, urology, robotic surgeries, vascular surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and neurosurgeries.

The hybrid room handles between 5-10 cases per day depending on scheduled cases, focusing on adults.

Procedures performed include TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions.

Around 20% of cases are pediatric, including appendectomies and cholecystectomies.

No liver or lung transplants are performed.

Participation in specialized cases is included.

Patient ratios are 1 : 1.

Support on the unit includes a charge nurse with no patient assignment (Monday through Friday), assistance on weekends and evenings, bedside monitoring by an anesthesiologist, resource nurse availability, and surgeons with preference cards.

Education and representation from service line representatives are provided.

Experience with Siemens equipment is required for charting.

Scrub color is provided.
