Principal Data Engineer- Data Governance/Data Quality

Our client, a leader in the data management industry, is seeking a Principal Data Engineer - Data Governance/Data Quality to join their team. As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be part of a highly technical and analytical department supporting various teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Principal Data Engineer - Data Governance/Data Quality

Location: Richmond, VA

Pay Range: 160k

What's the Job?

• Lead data quality and governance initiatives from inception to implementation.
• Evaluate and implement data governance tools and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance data quality processes and frameworks.
• Provide expert guidance on data modeling and architecture.
• Communicate effectively with senior technology and business partners to align data strategies with business objectives.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Quality and/or Data Governance roles.
• Hands-on experience with SQL; Snowflake experience is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Data Governance/Data Quality tools such as DQLabs, Alation, or Collibra.
• Strong knowledge of data governance and quality processes.
• Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in data initiatives.
