Under general supervision of the Director of Surgical Services, this position is responsible for the overall management, staff development and systems analysis related to Perioperative Systems Support including Surgery Scheduling and Perioperative Information Systems. As the principal resource for Perioperative Information Systems, this position is accountable for the success of system implementations, integration, process improvements, and overall benefits realization and functions as the key point of user contact and initial and ongoing staff training and education. Prepares analytical reports and makes recommendations to hospital leadership.
Integrated into this position is responsibility for Surgery Scheduling and accountability for the efficient and operationally effective flow of scheduling activities utilizing the Perioperative Information Systems. This includes collaboration and effective communication with other members of the Perioperative Services Team to ensure case readiness and charge capture, coordination of scheduling procedures, maintenance of surgical records, order entry functions and staff orientation/training in meeting fiscal and quality care goals and outcomes for the department.
