Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer
Location : Hybrid 4 days onsite per week (Miami, FL)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to join a growing engineering organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and scaling cloud infrastructure on AWS, enabling product teams to deliver applications quickly, securely, and reliably.
You will work with modern cloud-native technologies, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), GitOps workflows, and observability platforms to support a robust, highly available cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Design, provision, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
- Build and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms that support application development and deployment.
Containerization & Kubernetes
Deploy and manage containerized workloads in Amazon EKS.Implement GitOps-based deployment workflows using tools such as Flux CD.CI / CD & GitOps Enablement
Enable development teams to build and deploy applications using Git-based workflows.Support CI / CD pipelines leveraging GitHub, GitHub Actions, and related tooling.Observability & Monitoring
Implement and maintain observability solutions for metrics, logging, and tracing using modern monitoring platforms (e.g., Splunk Observability Cloud or similar tools).Troubleshooting & Operations
Proactively troubleshoot and resolve platform and application issues across AWS services, including EKS, Elastic Beanstalk, and Lambda.Support operational excellence through automation, documentation, and continuous improvement.Networking, CDN & Security
Work with CDN and Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies.Apply cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards.Collaboration & Communication
Partner closely with software, security, and infrastructure teams.Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Create and maintain architecture diagrams and platform documentation.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps roles.Strong hands-on experience with AWS.Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation, CDK, or similar).Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes workloads (Amazon EKS preferred).Solid understanding of GitOps principles and tools (Flux CD or similar).Experience with CI / CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).Experience with cloud observability, monitoring, and logging platforms.Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and scalable architectures.Experience supporting transactional, highly available applications.Soft Skills
