Salary : $16.75-18 / hr depending on experience

The Duluth Bethel is seeking a Assistant Kitchen Manager / Cook for our non-profit residential treatment and correctional facility. Must be willing to consent to a background check, and, if chemically dependent, be free from problematic substance abuse for at least one year.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! This is a great way for someone in recovery to give back!

Essential Functions :

• Must have good oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have ability and willingness to work with a difficult to serve population.
• Must follow standardized dietician approved recipes / menu and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Estimate the required quantities of food for meals.
• Help prepare food ordering and oversee stocking of supplies.
• Help direct, schedule, and train cooks.
• Know and follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Must have ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, and be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
• Help prepare monthly menus with the Food Services Manager.
• Be familiar with all dishes and ingredients on Bethel menus and be able to accommodate special diets.
• Maintain records as assigned.
• Be flexible to on-call situations as necessary.
