About The Position

Experience : Minimum of 1 year in acute med / surg within the last year.

License : RN License required

Certifications : Required certifications must be current.

Must-Have :

• Acute med / surg experience of 1+ years within the last year.
• Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time.

Description :

Data collection will take place on 11 / 13 / 2025.

The unit has a total of 22 beds and a staff of 30.

During the day shift, staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 patient care assists, and 1 unit secretary.

During the night shift, staffing includes 4 RNs, 1-2 patient care assists, and 0-2 sitters.

The maximum patient ratio is 6 : 1.

Standard equipment used includes electronic medical records.

The typical hiring profile focuses on candidates with experience caring for neuro patients, including those with CVAs, TIAs, and altered mental status.

Standard nursing skills required include IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, communication with all members of the care team, and documentation in the EHR.

Additional procedures may include continuous bladder irrigation and NGT insertion and maintenance.
