Corporate Development Role At Golden State Dermatology

The Corporate Development team at Golden State Dermatology is responsible for driving the organization's strategic growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and de novo development. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, conducting in-depth market research, sourcing acquisition targets, developing financial models, and collaborating closely with senior leadership to execute deals that align with the organization's long-term growth objectives in the dermatology sector. The role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and requires some travel.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Growth : Partner with senior leadership to identify and drive strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, mergers, partnerships, and expansion strategies, all focused on fueling the company's long-term success.
Market Research : Stay ahead of industry trends in dermatology and healthcare to pinpoint promising acquisition targets and potential new office locations.
Sourcing : Be the "face" of Golden State Dermatology, engaging directly with dermatology practices to discover and source potential acquisition targets, including through cold calling, personalized emails, and industry networking.
Financial Modeling & Valuation : Build and refine financial models that assess acquisition targets, joint ventures, and partnerships, with a keen eye on profitability, cost efficiency, and ROI.
Due Diligence : Oversee and coordinate the due diligence process by managing cross-functional teams responsible for reviewing potential acquisitions. Ensure all aspects, including financial, legal, and operational risks, are thoroughly evaluated and addressed by the appropriate experts.
Deal Execution : Support deal execution, collaborating closely on deal structuring, negotiations, and agreements with acquisition targets and partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Engage with teams across finance, legal, operations, and clinical staff to ensure that all M&A activities are aligned.
Reporting : Create and present dashboards to senior leadership, tracking pipeline activity and deal progress.
De Novo Development : Collaborate with leadership to identify, plan, and build new office locations, contributing to the company's growth and footprint expansion.
Key Skills and Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA is a plus, but not required.
Experience : 2+ years in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or M&A, ideally within healthcare or related industries
Technical Skills : High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Financial Expertise : Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and analytics, with a strong ability to evaluate healthcare practices and make data-driven decisions.
M&A Knowledge : A solid understanding of M&A processes, particularly in healthcare, with experience navigating complex transactions.
Leadership : Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and ensure alignment on key initiatives.
Self-starter who takes ownership of projects and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to reach out and engage with potential acquisition targets through unsolicited calls.
Travel : Comfortable with and able to do some travel.
Preferred Qualifications :
