The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for an Associate Professor within the William S. Boyd School of Law.
ROLE of the POSITION
The University of Nevada Las VegasWilliam S. Boyd School of Law invites applications for entry-level non-tenured and pre-tenure candidates for one new faculty hire to design and teach a new clinic along with other potential course offerings. This is a tenure system position expected to begin Summer / Fall 2026. We seek candidates with a demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching in a live-client clinic and producing original scholarship along with a commitment to engage actively with our diverse community. The successful candidate will have the support and infrastructure of our top-ranked Thomas and Mack Legal Clinic and the opportunity to teach additional non-clinical courses including in one of several possible core courses. All tenured and tenure track faculty at Boyd Law whether teaching doctrinal clinical or lawyering process (legal writing) courses are subject to the same research expectations annual three-course loads a low faculty-student ratio and generous leave policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a J.D. from an American Bar Association-accredited law school or foreign equivalent.
Required Experience :
Licensed attorney in good standing in the State Bar of Nevada or the bar of another state.
Can demonstrate excellence as an ethical legal practitioner.
Can demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supervising law students in a clinical or other experiential setting.
Can demonstrate a strong commitment to producing creative impactful legal scholarship whether through publication record or agenda for future projects.
Has a record of or demonstrated a strong commitment to service within the legal profession or the broader public including institutional community or professional service.
Faculty rank and qualification will be dependent upon education and experience but will likely be as follows : Associate Professor (Tenure-Track).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A demonstrated record of effective teaching mentoring or similar experience (such as attorney trainings). Experience supervising students in a law school clinical program and / or supervising law students or lawyers in practice. Interest in exploring innovative clinic models that expand student access to learning in a clinical setting and increase community access to legal services including hybrid clinical teaching. A commitment to and / or demonstrated experience in supporting and engaging students from a broad range of backgrounds including first-generation college or law students. Other experience as a practicing attorney and / or judicial clerk particularly in areas relevant to the teaching and scholarship expectations of the position. Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with students faculty and staff in a collegial academic environment. Other academic experiencesuch as additional degrees or leadership rolesthat may enhance contributions to teaching scholarship or service.
