Overview
Synaptics is seeking a Sr. FP&A Manager to play a leading role in driving data-informed decision-making across our product and R&D organizations. This high-impact role is focused on advancing Synaptics’ strategic finance initiatives, including competitive intelligence, long-range planning, and oversight of our R&D roadmap tracking program. The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, the ability to synthesize complex market and technology trends, and communication skills to influence senior leaders. This position reports to the VP, FP&A.
The typical base pay range for this position is USD $133,000 - $210,100 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Lead strategic finance initiatives, including market modeling, product portfolio analysis, and long-range financial scenario planning to guide executive decision-making
- Drive Synaptics’ competitive intelligence program, synthesizing industry trends, competitor product / technology pipelines, pricing benchmarks, and strategic moves to inform corporate strategy and product investments
- Manage and enhance the R&D roadmap tracking program, ensuring cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Marketing, and Operations while maintaining visibility into spend, ROI, deliverables, and product milestones
- Provide financial guidance on investment prioritization, including long-term R&D and product portfolio trade-offs
- Partner closely with Product Marketing and Engineering leadership to assess new product opportunities, evaluate financial returns, and ensure alignment with strategic and market needs
- Develop and refine profitability and KPI dashboards to support strategic decision-making at the business-unit and corporate levels
- Produce executive-level reporting that translates financial, market, and competitive insights into clear recommendations
- Perform strategic ad hoc analysis on emerging technologies, market opportunities, and business scenarios as needed

Bachelor’s (MBA preferred) in finance, economics, engineering, or related quantitative field or equivalent12+ years of relevant experience in strategic finance, FP&A, competitive intelligence, financial services, or a related fieldStrong hands-on experience managing financial reporting systems such as Hyperion, Oracle, or similar ERP / reporting systemsProficiency with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and advanced Excel modeling skillsTrack record of analyzing issues and leading programs through resolutionNo travel requiredBelief in Diversity
