Position Highlights

Safety Coordinator

Required :

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) - Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certification in clinical or safety specialty within first five years of employment.
• Associates in Safety Security Industrial Hygiene or equivalent experience
• Responsible for assisting the Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness in the planning organizing and directing of the Environment of Care (EC) programs for Avera.

Duties :

Assists the Department Director in managing the planning coordination and evaluation of the Averas Management Plans as mandated by the Joint Commission Standards : Safety Hazardous Materials and Waste and Fire Prevention.

Assists the Department Director to plan and coordinate the curriculum and presentation of safety training in both new employee orientation and annual review. Prepares agendas finalized minutes trending sheets and oversees publication of information to staff.

A Brief Overview

Accountable for disaster preparedness for Avera. The position will develop and oversee solutions to provide timely and effective emergency preparedness. Major functions include developing emergency management plan drafts organizing and maintaining emergency response assets and providing related educational programs.
