Our client is seeking a top-tier Lead Java Engineer to design and deploy cutting-edge microservices and APIs powering Customer Data solutions. You'll join a dynamic team building vital mid-layer services across the organization and with external partners, and we need your expertise in Java 8+, cloud technologies, containerization, data streaming, and Agile methodologies. Required Skills - Java 8+, Spring Boot, Kafka, Containers, Cloud, Automated testing, Agile, lead rolesJob Duties - Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.

• Help define project scope & specifications, and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.
• Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.
• Propose technical solutions.
• Delivery of well-designed, high-quality, fully functional, properly tested features, fixes, and enhancements.
• Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.
• Provide subject matter expertise and direction, guidance, and support on complex engagements. Job Requirements -
• 7+ years experience with Java 8+
• 5+ years experience with Spring Boot
• 4+ years experience with Containers (Docker and orchestration, ie : Kubernetes or EKS)
• 4+ years experience with Azure or AWS
• Strong understanding of microservices and HTTP / REST
• 4+ years experience with test automation (jbehave, cucumber, selenium, junit)
• 4+ years experience in an Agile / Scrum team (backlog refinement, standups, code reviews, JIRA or ADO etc.)
• 2+ years in lead roles Desired Skills & Experience -
• Streaming / messaging : Kafka, NATS, Kinesis, or Event Hub are strongly desired
• Datadog or New Relic a plus
• Elastic Search a plus
• Apigee a plus
