Seeking a seasoned Solar Winds Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring strategy across its technology infrastructure.
This role is critical to ensuring real-time visibility, operational uptime, and safety. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Solar Winds platform engineering and a strong understanding of performance monitoring in high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and optimize Solar Winds modules (NPM, SAM, NTA, DPA) and Logic Monitor platforms across transit systems.
- Develop custom dashboards, alerts, and reports aligned with operational KPIs and SLA thresholds using both Solar Winds and Logic Monitor.
- Integrate Solar Winds with cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and third-party tools for unified observability.
- Partner with application owners to provide out-of-the-box and custom monitoring.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and operations teams to ensure resilient monitoring coverage.
- Maintain and enhance monitoring for infrastructure operations.
- Document architecture, workflows, and escalation protocols for internal and vendor stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Solar Winds in enterprise or public sector environments.
- 3+ years of experience deploying and managing Logic Monitor in hybrid or cloud environments.
- Strong command of SNMP, WMI, Net Flow, and database polling techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and custom integrations.
- Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem/cloud), especially Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with database queries for custom database monitoring.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and incident response workflows.
Preferred Experience
- Demonstrable experience in critical infrastructure domains.
- Solar Winds Certified Professional (SCP) or equivalent certifications.
- Logic Monitor Certified Associate or Professional is a plus.
- Experience with Orion SDK and API-based data extraction.

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $88.00 - $95.00 per hour.
