Job Summary :
The Project Field Engineer will provide engineering and project coordination support for two ongoing EPC gas compressor station projects. This role ensures technical accuracy, supports field and design activities, and ensures alignment between engineering, construction, procurement, and project controls teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Support : Assist in the execution of two active EPC gas compressor station projects from engineering through construction.
Design & Technical Document Review : Review, interpret, and track design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination : Work with engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, I&E) to resolve design and field issues.
Vendor & Procurement Coordination : Interface with vendors, procurement teams, and subcontractors to ensure materials and equipment meet project requirements.
RFIs & Change Management : Assist with RFIs, submittal reviews, technical clarifications, and change management processes.
Schedule & Progress Monitoring : Track project schedules, deliverable milestones, and engineering progress.
Construction Support : Provide technical analysis, field validations, and redlines / as-built documentation to construction teams.
Site Visits : Participate in site visits and walkdowns to verify installation and design alignment.
Compliance & Standards : Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (e.g., ASME, API, NFPA).
Risk & Quality Reviews : Contribute to risk assessments, quality reviews, and constructability evaluations.
Documentation & Reporting : Prepare and maintain engineering logs, reports, and project tracking tools.
Cost & Forecasting Coordination : Work with project controls to manage cost, quantities, forecasting, and progress reporting.
Commissioning Support : Assist with commissioning, testing, and turnover documentation as needed.
Field Reporting : Support the preparation of daily field reports.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Industry Experience : Experience with gas compressor stations, pipelines, or related infrastructure.
Engineering Workflow Knowledge : Familiarity with engineering workflows, construction processes, and technical document control.
Systems & Equipment Experience : Knowledge of compressor packages, piping systems, foundations, instrumentation, and balance of plant.
Code & Standards Knowledge : Familiarity with industry codes (API, ASME, NFPA) and client-specific standards.
Technical Tools : Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
Problem-Solving Skills : Strong technical analysis and problem-solving abilities.
Multitasking : Ability to manage multiple workstreams across concurrent projects.
Communication & Coordination : Excellent communication and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Organization : Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation habits.
Field Work : Comfortable working in field office locations on the jobsite.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
Licensing : PE or EIT license preferred.
Experience : 7-10 years of experience supporting EPC or capital projects in the oil & gas, midstream, or energy sector.
Industry-Specific Experience : Regulated utility industry experience preferred. Experience in oil & gas or midstream, especially with compressor stations, pipelines, and high-pressure facilities.
Construction Knowledge : Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and relevant industry standards.
Software Proficiency : Familiarity with Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, and other construction management software.
Document Interpretation : Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and schematics.
