Job Description

The Railroad Commission of Texas, recognized as a worldwide leader in the regulation of oil and gas, is seeking a Field Inspector to perform technical field inspections in oilfield operations for the Lubbock District, Field Operations Section of the Oil and Gas Division. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, making inspections, investigating complaints, and collecting and analyzing engineering and geological data. This position offers the opportunity to learn up-to-date oil and gas operations and procedures, regulatory requirements, drilling, production, and transportation of crude oil. This role will also enhance skills in identifying drilling, well completion, and well production equipment, including downhole well production equipment, their associated uses, and removal procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Lead Inspector, Technical Staff, and / or the District Director.

Work Hours :   Standard office hours for Commission employees are 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our agency offers alternative schedules for employees, provided they do not adversely affect operations or service levels and standard hours of operation are maintained. The Commission may also offer telework based on the agency’s approved Telework Plan. Alternate work schedules may be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview process.
