Description :
This position has dual responsibilities in CT and Diagnostic Radiology.
Determines appropriate radiographic technique and positions patients using immobilization and support devices to ensure optimum film quality.
Positions patients and adjusts equipment, immobilization, and support devices as necessary, using tact and courtesy at all times.
Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality images, providing Radiologists with a diagnostic tool.
Secures history from patients regarding the reason for prescribed tests and records this information appropriately for Radiologist review.
Displays competent understanding of patient positioning and image critique.
Ability to competently position patients for all exams.
Performs problem solving as it relates to physical limitations of patients during positioning.
Follows appropriate scanning protocol as per Radiologist instructions.
Competently performs image reviews to determine if additional views are necessary to complete the exam.
Able to select and adjust technical factors governing the imaging process.
Identifies artifacts on images and assists in problem solving.
Minimizes the amount of repeat work.
Completes annual competencies.
Communicates normal and abnormal anatomy captured in scans to the Radiologist efficiently.
Evaluates imaging orders for appropriateness based on medical criteria.
Responsible for clinically competent operation of equipment in CT and Digital X-ray modalities.
Demonstrates compliance with all radiation safety procedures for all patients.
Documents care according to departmental standards.
Operating all equipment in a competent manner is essential.
Modifies technical factors as needed based on the situation.
Performs start-up and shutdown procedures on all equipment.
Ensures that images are labeled and marked correctly.
Inspects equipment daily during use.
Reports any malfunctions to leadership or contacts the proper company for repairs if leadership is unavailable.
Performs problem solving as situations arise, including equipment malfunction and physical limitations.
Handles all equipment with care.
