Position Title : Refrigeration / HVAC Apprentice

Location : Columbus, GA area

Company : Piggly Wiggly

Job Summary :

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Refrigeration / HVAC Apprentice to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will assist in the repair and maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC systems at Piggly Wiggly locations. You will be expected to respond promptly to emergency calls and support technicians in ensuring optimal system performance and store comfort.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Respond quickly to emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service records and follow company safety standards.
  • Travel to various store locations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • EPA Certification (Type I, II, or Universal).
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in tight spaces, and tolerate various weather conditions.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous experience or vocational training in refrigeration or HVAC is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of tools, meters, and safety procedures.

    • Schedule :

    Full-time. Availability for on-call and emergency service after hours and weekends is required.
