ALL ABOUT ASSETS PROTECTION

Our Assets Protection (AP) teams are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our guests, team members, and brand during critical events. We safeguard sales by minimizing shortage risks, preventing theft, and ensuring our products are accessible to guests. Building collaborative relationships with store leadership and public safety officials, including law enforcement, is key to our success. At Target, we prioritize meaningful experiences that help you develop your career. As a Security Specialist, you will gain :

  • Skills in using intelligence-led tactics to secure the safety of team members and guests.
  • Experience in crisis management and crowd safety, providing essential support.
  • De-escalation techniques and knowledge of physical security protocols.
  • Familiarity with Target's video surveillance system.
  • Ability to timely document incidents accurately using case management systems.

Responsibilities :

As a Security Specialist, your daily duties may include :

  • Greeting guests at the store entrance to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Ensuring safety and security standards are actively maintained throughout the store and exterior property.
  • Responding promptly to security incidents while documenting details accurately.
  • Assisting guests with issues, fostering a secure environment.
  • Utilizing de-escalation strategies when addressing security incidents.
  • Supporting merchandise theft recoveries and adhering to AP policies.
  • Performing merchandise receipt checks at the front of the store to prevent theft.
  • Documenting all incidents in the case management system in accordance with AP guidelines.
  • Using Target's video surveillance system as needed.
  • Promoting a culture of ethical behavior, safety, and compliance.
  • Complying with safety policies, reporting hazards, and working safely.
  • Carrying out additional duties as requested based on business needs.

    • Qualifications :

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet state or local licensing and legal requirements for the role.
  • Possess a welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and teammates.
  • Have effective communication skills and the ability to use technology, such as handheld scanners.
  • Can work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Remain focused and composed in fast-paced environments, completing tasks within time limits.

    • Additional Requirements :

  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Capable of apprehending individuals according to company policies.
  • Efficiently handle and move merchandise, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Reliable attendance and a flexible working schedule.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Ability to stay mobile throughout the scheduled shift.
