Job Summary :

The Principal Scientist is responsible for performing and leading research, development and problem-solving projects relating to NWF in order to accelerate and enable new product and new process development.

Essential Functions :

  • Serve as an expert or specialist in the fundamental sciences pertinent to food technology, chemistry, product development, and application.
  • Has superior productivity in the designated core business category.
  • Able to gather, interpret, and analyze technical information from multiple sources to relate impact on business performance.
  • Provide technical and analytical resource support and act as a mentor or coach for any level Scientist.
  • Act as a project coordinator and leader for multifunctional teams on short or long-term special projects.
  • Develop and contribute new educational information for external and internal customers.
  • Identify and implement improved work processes.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as needed.

    • Qualifications :

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum of ten years related experience and / or training.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and general knowledge in Adobe applications, MS Office, AS400, and Lotus Notes.

    • Work Environment :

  • General office setting.
  • Periodic exposure to : (1) loud environment, (2) airborne particles with stronger odors associated with spicy food ingredients, (3) cold, hot, wet, and humid conditions, (4) walking and standing on concrete, (5) climbing steps, ladders, (6) standing on elevated surfaces.
