Scope of Project

NC DHHS seeks a Junior Java Developer to support the development and implementation of NC Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) projects. The role contributes across the full lifecycle of Java-based applications within the Curam environment, emphasizing automated unit testing, collaboration with senior developers, and adherence to SDLC best practices.

Responsibilities :

Develop and execute JUnit and JMockit test scripts for automated developer testing

Assist senior developers in building, testing, debugging, and maintaining Java applications

Write clean, efficient, testable, and well-documented code following industry standards

Participate in code reviews to improve code quality

Debug and resolve software defects to ensure application stability

Work with databases and integrate them into Java applications

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement solutions

Contribute to system documentation and continuous process improvements

Stay current with Java technologies, trends, and best practices

Required Skills :

Java / J2EE development 4 Years

JUnit and JMockit test development 3 Years

Testing web, GUI, client / server, and database applications 5 Years

Tricentis Tosca / NeoLoad development 3 Years

Requirements analysis and automated test case / script development 5 Years

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision

Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

Highly Desired Skills :

Understanding of FNS / SNAP Program Policy 3 Years

Testing experience with Curam products 2 Years

Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) 2 Years

Shift-left automation experience 1 Year

Exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring, and Hibernate
