Outpatient Audit Specialist

A company is looking for an Outpatient Complex Audit Specialist to facilitate audits of medical record documentation for outpatient encounters.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize documentation and coding expertise to conduct audits of outpatient medical records

Abstract information from electronic health records to support the Documentation & Coding Provider Education Program

Evaluate medical records in accordance with coding guidelines and regulations to assist in revenue cycle projects and performance metrics

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required

Minimum of two (2) years coding experience required; additional specialty coding certification or 5-7 years coding experience preferred

Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position required

One to two (1-2) years of college or additional coursework in relevant fields preferred

Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding systems is essential
