Responsibilities

• Will serve as an academic advisor for assigned student-athletes. More specifically, the advisor will be responsible to monitor academic eligibility and progress and to provide academics support, and personal counseling for assigned student-athletes. Administratively, the advisor has the responsibility to monitor study hall and academic progress of student-athletes and report information to the Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services and the Head Coaches of each of the respective sports that they support.
• Will be responsible for advising student-athletes regarding satisfactory progress towards degree and eligibility standards as set forth by governing agencies, monitoring the same.
• Will be responsible for keeping the Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services, appropriate Athletics Department staff, and the Dean of Undergraduate Studies informed about current and future needs to adequately provide comprehensive academic advising support programs for student-athletes. Other duties as assigned.
• Involved in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes which includes interaction with recruits and their families, coaches, guidance counselors, and alumni.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note : a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Anticipated Salary Range

Starting in the low $50,000's, commensurate with education and experience.
