POWER Engineers, Member of WSP USA, Our Power Team is seeking a Full Time Electrical Engineering Intern Summer 2026 to work out of our Billings, MT office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.

WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience to enhance their education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real projects while working side by side with senior staff. Through our Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, networking opportunities and lifelong career connections.

This internship is anticipated to take place during the Summer 2026 season.The program is anticipated to take place from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. The individual start date is flexible.

Your Impact

• Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Work closely with experienced engineers on all aspects of utility substation design.
• Participate in detailed design tasks for low to extra-high-voltage substations, including : One-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications, conduit and cable sizing / routing, and substation layouts
• Perform design calculations following IEEE, NEC, NESC, and industry standards.
• Assist senior engineers with QA / QC design checks.
• Support design engineers with physical and protection / control design for electric utility substations.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE / EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position.
