Overview :
Seeking an IRL Technologist to perform basic and advanced donor / patient testing, interpret compatibility results, resolve complex serologic issues, and support hospital reference needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Resolve donor-recipient compatibility problems and provide advanced reference and consultation support to hospitals and transfusion services.
- Perform automated and manual test procedures on blood samples.
- Coordinate receipt, shipment, and transport of donor and patient samples; document any supply or equipment issues.
- Manage reagent inventory, including ordering, receiving, inspection, and preparation.
- Identify and resolve testing irregularities; support other technologists with troubleshooting.
- Consult with medical facility staff on complex serologic cases and support provision of specialized blood units.
- Perform manufacturing tasks related to special blood products, as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as needed.
Schedule :
FridaySunday, 7 : 00 AM 7 : 00 PM (Baylor Shift)
Weekend and differential pay may apply.
Compensation :
Pay dependent on experience and qualifications; discussed during initial screening.
Qualifications :
MT(ASCP) required.Bachelors degree in Biological Science or Chemistry.At least 1 year of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education / experience).MLT(ASCP) with 4 years of general lab experience may be considered.State licensure, if applicable.Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team.Physical Requirements :
Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs; possible work in cold storage environments; use of PPE (lab coat, gloves, face shield); operation of various laboratory equipment.
