Dyslexia Therapist / Teacher

Position Overview

TX-STAR is seeking an experienced Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher to join our team in the San Antonio area. The ideal candidate will have direct experience providing dyslexia intervention using the Read by Design program and be passionate about helping students improve their literacy skills through structured, multisensory instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Provide dyslexia intervention services in accordance with the Read by Design program and district guidelines

• Deliver small group or one-on-one instruction targeting reading fluency, decoding, comprehension, and spelling

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success

• Maintain accurate progress monitoring and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements

• Participate in ARD meetings, staff development, and team collaboration as needed

• Ensure individualized instruction and accommodations are aligned with students' IEP or 504 plans

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field

• Certification as a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher or relevant teaching certification preferred

• Experience with Read by Design is required

• Knowledge of evidence-based literacy interventions and dyslexia identification criteria

• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
