JOB OVERVIEW Job Title : Hematology / Oncology Physician Job Type : Locum Tenens Location : Reidsville, NC Service Setting : Inpatient Coverage Type : Clinical Call Coverage Period : 01 / 19 / 2026 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule : Tue Fri, 8a 5p (possible Wednesday start) On-Call Shift Schedule : Infrequent Call, includes some weekends Call Type : Beeper Call Ratio : Variable, low frequency Call Response Time : 30 minutes COVERAGE DATES 01 / 19 / 2026 Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics : Adults Patient Volume / Census : Minimum 15 patients per day Rounding : Limited to clinic responsibilities Phone Consults : As needed Case Mix : Benign hematology and general ( bread and butter ) hematology / oncology FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department : 5 EMR System : Epic Office Equipment Available : Standard oncology clinic setup Specialty Backup Available : Pharmacy, Infusion Specialists, APPs, 12 physicians, Nursing staff Support Staff Available : Nurses, Navigator, Admin Support, APPs, Infusion Specialist Reason for Coverage : Ongoing clinical need PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required : Yes Temporary Privileges Available : Yes Credentialing Timeline : 6090 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Ambulatory Hematology / Oncology patient care Follow-up and new patient consultations Order writing and prescription management Coordination with pharmacy team JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses : Active NC license required (Not willing to license) Board : BC in Hematology or Oncology (double board preferred; Oncology required if treating oncology patients) DEA : Required Certifications : BLS Experience : Minimum 23 years in Hematology / Oncology Other Qualifications : Must complete Epic assessment prior to start DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide outpatient hematology and oncology consultations and follow-ups Manage benign hematology and general oncology cases Collaborate with nurses, APPs, and pharmacists to ensure comprehensive care Participate in limited call coverage and weekend shifts as assigned Maintain thorough and accurate documentation within Epic EMR
