Position Overview:
As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our periodontists and patients throughout the treatment process. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that every procedure is conducted efficiently and safely while maintaining a positive, comfortable environment for patients.
Our Frisco location Surgical Assistant may include occasional travel to support other offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist periodontists with surgical procedures, including periodontal treatments, dental implant placement, bone grafting, soft tissue grafting and/or other procedures.
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to OSHA and infection control standards.
- Greet patients warmly and ensure they are informed and comfortable before, during, and after procedures.
- Take and process X-rays, CT scans, and other imaging as needed.
- Record and update patient charts accurately in the practice's management software, CareStack is a plus.
- Provide post-operative care instructions and answer patient questions regarding procedures and recovery.
- Monitor and maintain surgical inventory, ensuring all materials and supplies are stocked and organized.
- Collaborate with team members to create a seamless and efficient workflow.

Qualifications:
- Dental Assistant certification (RDA or CDA required).
- Minimum of 3 year of experience in surgical/ periodontal assisting required.
- Proficient in taking X-rays and working with dental technology (experience with CBCT is a plus).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create a positive patient experience.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with practice management software - CareStack is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism and adherence to HIPAA and OSHA standards.
- (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
