Deputy Constable Precinct 3

Taylor County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Constable Deputy . This law enforcement position will primarily operate at the Taylor County Juvenile Justice Center. Normal hours will be Monday - Friday, daytime hours.

This law enforcement position will primarily operate at the Taylor County Juvenile Justice Center.

A Deputy Constable must be at least 21 years old and hold a peace officer license under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Criminal history and background investigations will be conducted on all applicants.

This Deputy Constable Position will involve ongoing Juvenile Justice Training.

Deputies will :

• Be able to use discretion and common sense in ongoing day to day operations.
• Ensure safety and security at the Taylor County Juvenile Justice Center.
• Screen visitors and clients for entry and contraband.
• Work closely with Juvenile staff and directors to ensure smooth day to day operations.
• Enforce the laws of Texas and take persons into custody.
• Report need for medical assistance and prisoner transport to County Jail.

All applicants must have 1-2 years of experience in law enforcement. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus

Starting Salary : $61,774.00 + benefits
