Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Power BI Engineer. The individual should have hands-on experience in end-to-end Power BI and expert in administration of its services.
Client : LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT
The duration of the contract engagement is about 12 months.
This is a remote position; however, they may have to travel on site or to other courts or conferences on occasions.
Need to provide three samples of their Power BI visualization work they have done alongside their resume.
Desirables :
- Expert-level understanding of Power BI ecosystem, including Desktop, Service, Premium capacities, Dataflows, DataMart, Gateways, and Fabric workloads.
- Advanced Power BI development skills building interactive, visually compelling dashboards
- Expert in Power BI Service administration, including managing user access, security roles, and permissions within the service.
- Knowledge of migrating Power BI between workspaces and Microsoft Fabric
- Advanced SQL scripting for analytical queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- In-depth knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M) for advanced calculations, transformations, and optimization.
- Comprehensive understanding of Power BI governance, including workspace design, deployment pipelines, RLS security models, sensitivity labels, and tenant-level configuration.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, including star / snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, normalization, and semantic layer design.
- Understanding of enterprise data architecture, including cloud data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, Synapse, Fabric Lakehouse), ETL / ELT patterns, and data lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of BI best practices, including performance tuning, measure optimization, visual accessibility, UX design standards, and report usability.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (Git), automated refresh, CI / CD for Power BI, and ALM Toolkit.
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services
