Chicago Metalcraft, a stainless-steel fabricator serving the food industry, is hiring for a SOLIDWORKS Design Engineer to support the design of stairs / railings, catwalks, mezzanines, conveyors, packaging machines, and precision sheet metal fabrications. This role requires high attention to detail, strong organization, mechanical design expertise, and collaboration with workshop leaders and sales engineering,

including project management responsibilities and occasional short-term travel for on-site design capture.

Key responsibilities

• Design stairs / railings, catwalks, mezzanines, conveyors, platforms, packaging machines, and precision metal parts.
• Produce detailed mechanical designs with high organizational rigor and accuracy.
• Support project management for work under their design.
• Collaborate with workshop leads and sales engineering for application development and technical support.
• Perform on-site visits as needed for design detail capture (short-term, including overnight travel).
