Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior .NET / ColdFusion Application Developer & Application Architect to support the work and projects of our client in Washington D.C. MUST be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and Background Clearance.
The role's primary function will be to work with the software development team to support and enhance existing software applications written in ColdFusion, Java and .Net using SQL Server and Oracle databases in the backend.

- Update developer technical reference documentation and project WIKIs
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, enhance and promote best-practices, and mentor other team members
- Capable of leading projects and teams
- Experience working in an agile environment with SCRUM or Kanban (Preferred)
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Expertise with web development using Microsoft tools to include Visual Studio, VS Code, Azure Data Studio, and SQL Server Management StudioDeveloping and maintaining existing ColdFusion applications and components using the ColdFusion programming language.Debugging and testing custom applications for various clients, work on requirements for bug fixes and enhancements.Designing and developing web applications with a strong understanding of ColdFusion frameworks, Java Script, SQL and Oracle databases.A firm understanding of database design fundamentals, including table design and normalization, query writing using TSQL / PLSQL and query optimizationAbility to work with SSRS, SSIS, and other ETL tools is desiredKnowledge of Azure DevOPS management and operations (prefer On-Prem) to include Build and Release pipelinesAbility to work in a team in an agile work environmentAbility to do user interface design (preferred)Ability to conduct requirements analysis (preferred)Technical Requirements (required and desired)
10+ years of experience developing web applications using ColdFusion and .Net5+ years of front-end development experience with JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS and XHTML, preferably HTML5 / CSS35+ Experience with multiple back-end languages (CFML, ASP, JSP, Java) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular.js, React, Node.js, Blazor)5+ years of experience with RestAPI end-points5+ years of experience with database engineering, and manipulating relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle5+ years of experience with jQuery and at least one additional modern JavaScript SPA framework, such as React (Preferred), Vue , Angular, or Blazor (plus)Solid understanding of Windows ecosystem infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, Load-Balancing, Windows server maintenance as related to .NETAbility to debug web pages (layout, JavaScript, AJAX) using browser developer toolsKnowledge of developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions.Knowledge of Dependency Injection and Inversion of ControlExperience with Test Driven Development (TDD)Experience with .Net Core or above (Preferred)Ability to develop in Visual Studio with Azure DevOPS (Preferred)A solid understanding of the principles of GIT (Preferred)Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (Preferred)Experience working with Entity Framework CoreAbility to create attractive, highly user-friendly, reactive user interfaces using Bootstrap 5 and / or Material UI (Preferred)Knowledge of Node Package Manager (NPM) and WebPack (Preferred)Understanding of LESS or SASS (Preferred)Ability to analyze application requirements (Preferred)Understanding of Web Accessibility and be able to demonstrate work that conforms to accessibility guidelines (Preferred)Ability to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize IIS installations / applicationsKnowledge of emerging web technologiesKnowledge of cloud, containerized application development using Docker and / or PodmanQualifications
Training and Certifications (required and desired)
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 8 years of applicable experience, or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree(s)SCRUM Master certification (Desired, but not required)
