Job Title : Material Handler

Essential Job Duites :
- Operates all material handling / moving equipment such as but not limited to forklifts stock-pickers buses trucks cars connection with assigned duties such as :
Transportation of material
Loading and unloading of materials and containersStacking and arranging materialStocking and storing containersRecords verifies and maintains all necessary paperwork to accomplish job assignmentsPackages straps and seals as needed and assignedShips receives and stores merchandise / material as required to accomplish job assignmentOperates computer systems to input and retrieve data as necessary to accomplish job assignmentsMay operate automated warehouse storage systems in connection with assigned duties such as stocking palletizing and issuing materialsMay perform inventories of machine and stockMay balance monies using basic understanding of vending machine questions as applicablePerforms assignments with a high degree of quality and efficiency exercising prescribed safety and security measuresWorks harmoniously with co-workers representatives of other Departments / Divisions and outside agenciesResponsible for housekeeping and cleanliness of assigned area and equipmentMaintains necessary forms and records essential to accomplishing assigned responsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring no unauthorized operations are performedResponsible for care and protection of assigned material and equipmentResponsible for ensuring materials are transported and vehicles are operated in compliance with Department of Transportation requirements and other application governing documentation (i.e. DOE Order Plant Directives / Standards etc.)Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of applicable Federal State Department of Energy (DOE) Corporate and Plant rules regulations Labor Agreements and Plant-wide operating policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedRequired to attend and / or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Technical Training Department through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2) and ManagementParticipates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controlsUnderstands a workers right to stop work when they feel their own or others personal safety is jeopardizedAttends all required safety meetings and suggestions on improvements to the work environmentSkills and Minimum Qualifications :

Successful completion within the last two (2) years of an accredited f orklift training course that includes classroom instruction and hands-on training pursuant to the requirements set forth in 29 CFR 1910.178 Powered industrial trucks.May be required to possess a valid Texas Commercial Drivers License (CDL) of the appropriate class A B or C and have an acceptable driving record as determined by Management after reviewing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)May be required to demonstrate ability to handle and dock in close quarters heavy duty tractors with 40 foot van-type trailers which may be established by a practical driving demonstration on Plant premisesMust successfully complete a Self-AssessmentPlease note : Self-Assessments are for external applicants onlyEducation :

DOE 426.2A Requirements :
Personnel entering positions and performing duties identified by management as falling under the requirements of DOE O 426.2 must meet certain minimum education and experience requirements as provided in the addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e. High School diploma or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2)

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Requires Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. If the successful candidate is not currently certified in the HRP the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position. If the successful candidate is currently certified in the HRP a review for HRP certification in the appropriate category will be performed by the hiring manager and the HRP Management Official and the certification process in the appropriate category will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
