Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, this position will be responsible for performing both routine and non-routine accounting and financial reporting functions for Always Fresh Farms including payroll.
This is an onsite position located in Plant City, FL.
Duties:- Process payroll for full-time & seasonal employees; including entering, reviewing and importing hours, administering garnishments, and other adjustments as necessary
- Perform and report monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure company assets and liabilities are properly, correctly and completely accounted for related to payroll.
- Participate in the month-end close process, perform monthly duties assigned to facilitate timely close, including reporting.
- Responsible for the Worker’s Compensation monthly calculation for accrual purposes.
- Process payroll journal entry for each payroll into the ERP system and record monthly payroll accrual journal entries for all companies.
- Create and provide reporting tools on a monthly, annual, and ad-hoc basis for operations and financial leaders for purposes of business decisions.
- Assists with all budgeting as it relates to payroll aspects of accounting operations and the preparation of annual financial forecasts/budgets, annual and monthly financial statements and other accounting reports and projects as necessary.
- Identify and develop reporting and help establish and track key metrics.
- Perform special research and projects for the general ledger as required.
- Provide input to ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy.
- Work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional departments including sales, operations, logistics, shipping and receiving
- Ability to work proactively, prioritize tasks and to manage time effectively
Skills/Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years of experience within the accounting field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.)
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- In depth knowledge of accounting principles/practices, internal controls, and reporting requirements
- Ability to prepare, organize and analyze complex financial information
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to assume new responsibilities
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Punctual, regular and consistent attendance, and ability to work overtime, nights and weekends if needed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; with responsive feedback at all times.
